Mother, Mother from "Death of a Scoundrel"
composed by Max Steiner
This music is from one of my all time favorite films. It's definitely very "Hollywoodized" (everyone gets their just deserts in the end) but George Sanders performance (and deliciously deep voice) grab your attention as do the performances by Zsa Zsa Gabor and Yvonne De Carlo. As you listen to the eastern european strains in the music you can almost hear the Czech Clementi Sabourin (played by Sanders) begging for his mother's forgiveness for his transgressions including the death of his brother.

Cary Grant
by Kirstin Mainhard & Khromozomes
I have a playlist on my iPod with songs sung by actors or about them/the film industry. Since I have a passion for classic films the majority of the songs are sung by actors such as Robert Mitchum and Gene Kelly etc. and are specifically about Hollywood's "Golden Age" (such as this song). Doesn't every girl wish she could have someone as suave and debonair as Cary Grant?

Mighty Day
performed by The Highwaymen
I love ballads and folk songs because of the stories they tell. This song tells the tragic story of the Galveston Hurricane of 1900. On September 8, 1900 a hurricane with estimated winds of 135 mph (217 kmh) made landfall on Galveston and would lead to an estimated 8,000 deaths. To this day the Galveston Hurricane is the deadliest natural disaster to occur in the United States.

I'm On My Way (To Canaan Land)
as sung by Burt Lancaster in the film "Elmer Gantry"
I've always been partial to gospel music and this is one of my absolute favorites mainly due to the fact that
Burt Lancaster's performance in this film as the evangelist Elmer Gantryand his singing are
absolutely chilling. Is it sending shivers down your spine too?
