The Parting Glass

as used in the film "Waking Ned Devine" sung by Shaun Davey

*picture doesn't change or move so feel free to scroll to your hearts content

I absolutely adore this song, no regrets and the love of friends makes parting more sweet than sorrowful ^_^

All the money that e'er I had
I spent it in good company
And all the harm I've ever done
Alas it was to none but me
And all I've done for want of wit
To memory now I can't recall
So fill to me the parting glass
Goodnight and joy be to you all

Of all the comrades that e'er I had,
They're sorry for my going away,
And all the sweethearts that e'er I had,
They wish me one more day to stay
But since it falls unto my lot
that I should rise while you should not,
I gently rise and softly call,
"Goodnight and joy be with you all"

(additional stanza not included in this version)
Oh, If I had money enough to spend
And leisure time to sit awhile
There is a fair maid in this town
That sorely has my heart beguiled
Her rosy cheeks and ruby lips
She alone has my heart in thrall
So fill to me the parting glass
Goodnight and joy be with you all
